Format the SmartArt
SmartArt has Shapes. You can select and format each Shape separately. You can use the Format tools to focus on one particular Shape. The Format ribbon offers many of the same options as the Drawing or Shape ribbon.

1. Try It: Format a Shape

Select a Shape: Listen.

Go to SmartArt Tools ->Format->Shape Styles.
Go to Shape Effects->Glow.

2. Try This, Too: Move a Shape
Click once on the Pie Chart. All of the Shapes should have little Handles.
Click one more time on one Shape: Listen.
Now one Shape is selected.
Click, Hold and drag that Shape away from the rest of the Shapes in this diagram.

What Do You See? One Shape stands out.

OK, Do This: Save the Document
Go to File->Save.
Browse to your Documents Folder.
Enter the File Name: SmartArt.docx
Do not close this document, yet.
