Exam 77-425 Microsoft Word 2013 Expert
2.0 Design Advanced Documents
2.2 Apply Advanced Styles: Create Custom Styles

Home -> Styles -> Options->New Style

New Style Formatting

In general, all Styles are based on the Normal Style. This goes under the theory that the colors and fonts for the Headings and the Body Text should match: a brown suit goes with brown shoes. So begin your new Style by formatting the Normal text.

3. Try This: Edit the Style Sheet

Name: MyStyle.

Type: Paragraph.

Style based on: Normal.

Try This, Too: Format the Font
Select a Font: Bookman Old Style.
Select a Size: 10 pt.
Select a Color: Purple.

By default, your new Style will be added to the Styles gallery.

After you create the Normal style with the font, color and formatting that you want, you would create a New Style for Heading 1, 2, and 3 based on MyStyle.

Click
OK to close and save the MyStyle.
