Add a Value

Look at the bottom of the PivotTable Field List. There is only one value: the Product is in the Axis Fields. So far so good.

PivotTables and PivotCharts summarize data using COUNT, SUM, AVERAGE functions. This is done by adding a field to the Values.

5. Try it: Add a Value

Go to the PivotTable Fields List.

Select: Amount.

Drag the Amount to the Values.

What Do You See? The Value was displayed as Count of Amount by default in the PivotTable as well as the PivotChart.

Keep going...
